Even though this is a SMART repair web site catering for the Birmingham and surrounding areas, the iphone is a fascinating device for me personally, therefore I have dedicated this page for people who want informative links and cuts out the people out there charging money to unlock or jailbreak the iphone. Yes I own a iphone myself. When I first started out with a iphone, I searched google for a unlock, hundreds of web sites were listed, all claiming to unlock the iphone in a few seconds. Yes like other people I fell into the trap and paid a few of these people. I got ripped of by some of these people. Other times I was sent piggy back sim cards, these worked on and off, not very reliable. Others sent me software which worked, but I later found out that it was available free anyway on the internet by some hard working people, such as the Dev Team who are dedicated to this cause. Hopefully I will if time allows continue to add to these links, if other sites think they should be on here, please email me.

FIX FOR MY WIFI PROBLEM WITH IPHONE 3G BLACKSNOW JAILBREAK ! 28 December 2009 I have been pulling my hair out ever since I had to return my 3g iphone back to Apple for a case crack, and they exchanged it for another without question, but it had the latest updated software, which meant that I could not use the Dev Teams red snow and ultra snow anymore. So I proceeded to use Black Snow by Geohot. Guess what, I had trouble with wifi ! I trawled through hundreds of forums, trying to look for an answer. I tried all the remedies mentioned on the forums, including standing on my head and holding my nose, this just gave me a headache. Recently my family was visiting who own several iphones, some unlocked. They all could pick up and use my home wireless internet with no problems. So why can most people who are locked and unlocked have no problems? I concluded from the evidence, that Apple may have used different electronic components or a batch of faulty firmware in some iphones. I immediately made a appointment with the genius bar at the Apple shop after restoring my iphone. I told them that the iphone was faulty as it kept dropping the wifi signal, they had a go and saw the same problem. They swapped the iphone, I went home and used Black Snow again, exactly the same way as before. Now I have a fully functioning 3g iphone, with good wifi connection, the 3g internet connection has improved too. So the bottom line is, if you are still under warranty, return your iphone has faulty. If you do not have a warranty, you have to keep your fingers cross that the next update from apple may get your wifi working. Until then you just have to wait, as the other methods mentioned on forums only work for a very few, who might not really had a issue in the first place. Goodluck.
